The Olympics has found itself in trouble yet again after releasing a highlight reel of the best moments from the Paris 2024 Games composed of only black athletes.

The Olympics has once again drawn the ire of fans after unleashing what is now being considered a 'black-only’ post-game video highlighting the top moments of the Paris 2024 Games.

This follows a protest from African fans on Wednesday, blasting the Olympics for failing to include champions from the continent in their post-game clip when they released a highlights reel of the biggest moments of the Paris 2024 Games.

Following the outcry, the Olympics released another highlight clip, this time round focusing on track and field, and it had the likes of double Olympics champion Beatrice Chebet, 200m champion Letsile Tebogo, Joshua Cheptegei, the Ugandan who won the 10,000m race, and Faith Kipyegon.

Also included in the video was the 100m final, won by the finest of margins by American Noah Lyles, Sha’Carri Richardson anchoring the US 4x100m relay team to gold, Gabby Thomas claiming the women’s 200m title, Emmanuel Wanyonyi stunning Marco Arop in the 800m race as well as Julien Alfred’s dominant victory in the women’s 100m race.

“World records, photo-finishes & first-ever medals. The action on the famous purple #Paris2024 track was unforgettable,” Olympics said of the video.

However, it did not down well to fans yet again as they felt it was profiling of black athletes when all they were calling for was a highlight clip that included major wins of athletes from all continents from various sporting disciplines at the Olympics.

“The Olympic black version of the highlights just dropped. So shameless,” replied one observer.

“Everyone was complaining so they’ve done a video for blacks. Shameless,” another one added on X.

“Now we have video for Africans? Why didn't you guys make one video that could accommodate all of us? Why bring discrimination in sports. The one why did these two videos should be ashamed of him or herself,” said a disappointed fan.

“This is so shameful, did we have to remind you that Africa too had record breakers?”

“A blacks-only edit as if the Olympics was categorised into black and white editions. This is arguably the worst Olympics ever. From the blasphemous opening ceremony to the racist-laden closing ceremony.”

“Thanks you @Olympics for releasing the N*ggas in Paris version. Next time we won’t remind you that we are part of the world.”
