This weekend, Gabby Thomas makes her Grand Slam Track debut, chasing history, $200K and a bold new era in sprinting.

Olympic sprinter Gabby Thomas is heading into uncharted territory, and she is bringing her A-game.

The American is set to debut Grand Slam Track (GST)—a bold new league launched by sprint icon Michael Johnson—Thomas is eyeing a breakthrough in what could become one of the most talked-about moves in the sport this year.

Ahead of the Friday date, Thomas took to Instagram stories with a sleek and simple message: “@grandslamtrack here I come”

A massive $200,000 prize is up for grabs if she sweeps both the 100m and 200m.

The Olympic champion had spoken—and her message was loud and clear.

"Michael’s vision is incredibly exciting, and I can’t wait to give the millions of track fans around the world even more chances to watch us compete. I look forward to seeing all of our fans at the four Slams next year,” Thomas said, speaking candidly about what makes GST such a compelling step forward—not only for her, but for the entire sport.

GST is not your average league as it is designed for intensity where it features four major meets, each one packed with 96 top sprinters split into Racers and Challengers.

In a recent podcast interview, she offered an honest look at the financial challenges elite runners face.

“You go abroad to compete in what we call the Diamond League, and you have the opportunity to make $10,000 if you win your race,” she explained as per Essentially Sports.

During an appearance at SXSW earlier this year, Thomas expressed optimism that the league could offer a more stable, rewarding future for professional athletes, thanks to its fan-first approach and more sustainable financial model.
