Olympics marathon champion Sifan Hassan has added another feather to her cap after being named Dutch Sportswoman of the Year following her remarkable achievements in Paris.
Netherlands running great Sifan Hassan is celebrating yet another award after being crowned Dutch Sportswoman of the Year on Wednesday.
At the awards gala, the 31-year-old garnered more votes than Femke Bol, the Olympics 400m hurdles silver medallist, Marit Bouwmeester, Karolien Florijn and Sharon van Rouwendaal to claim the top prize.
Hassan was feted for her remarkable achievement at the Paris 2024 Olympics when she made the bold decision to sign up for three races and medaled in all of them.

Olympic marathon champion Sifan Hassan was suffering from exhaustion and doubted her ability to clinch gold in Paris.
The Ethiopian-born runner featured in 5,000m and 10,000m, winning bronze in both, before going on to defeat then world record holder Tigist Assefa to win marathon gold in an Olympics record time of 2.22.55.
Hassan’s gold medal came after just one day of rest between her 10,000m race and the marathon, displaying her remarkable strength and endurance.
It is the third award for Hassan this month after she was named World Athletics' Athlete of the Year and Out of Stadium Athlete of the Year at the gala held in Monaco at the start of December before being awarded Champion for Peace of the Year at the 2024 Peace and Sport Awards two days later.
“Sportswoman of the Year! I had such a great year and it is special for me to end with this award, with the voice of the Dutch athletes. I am grateful for all the support and support I felt this year,” she posted on X following her crowning.
It is the third time Hassan has been named Dutch Sportswoman of the Year, having also received the same award in 2019 and 2021.
