Usain Bolt has praised a Jamaican football star for her remarkable achievements, emphasizing her role as a national inspiration and mentor to young athletes, while sharing advice to elevate her game.

Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt has never shied away from celebrating his roots or the achievements of his fellow countrymen and women.

The fastest man in the world is also a vocal supporter of Jamaican athletes who shine on the global stage.

Most recently, Bolt heaped praise on one of Jamaica’s brightest sports stars, highlighting her impact on women’s football and her role as a national inspiration.

"Bunny Shaw is one of us, a Jamaican, so I told her it’s hard to support her, but I have to support her," Bolt told Sky Sports Football on Sunday.

"She’s great, and she has done extremely well for the country—to represent well for the country."

Bolt’s comments came after the Jamaican football sensation delivered a remarkable performance for Manchester City in the Women’s Super League, scoring a hat trick in a 4–0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

Khadija Monifa “Bunny Shaw’s dominance on the field has not only propelled Manchester City to a commanding position in the league standings but has also captured the hearts of fans back home in Jamaica.

"For me, it’s massive, you know what I mean?" Bolt remarked when asked about Shaw’s impact.

"It’s always so much to have somebody to look up to—our young girls can look up to her, you know? Because I think the world of women’s football is developing and getting big, and Jamaica is a small island. So, to have a superstar like Bunny Shaw in Jamaica, something somebody can aspire to is a big deal."

Over the years, Bolt has shared advice with Shaw, providing insights from his storied career that she has integrated into her own development as a footballer.

Shaw has openly spoken about the support she receives from Bolt, describing him as a source of guidance and motivation.

"He’s [Bolt] always been supportive. We speak about my progress. We have a good relationship. When he’s in town, he lets me know, and we link up. If I’m struggling with certain aspects, like strength work, I’ll reach out to him," Shaw revealed earlier this year.

In March, Shaw shared a conversation with Bolt that she described as transformative.

"We had a really good conversation, and he told me some things I could work on to get an edge over defenders. It’s just the little things, and he always says the little things matter the most."
