Two-time world 200m champion Shericka Jackson will double at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after winning the 100m and 200m at the Jamaican Olympic trials at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
Jackson started her Olympic journey winning the 100m at the trials, clocking a season best time of 22.29 seconds (1.6m/s).

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has expressed gratitude after making the cut to the Olympic team and fired warning shots at her opponents, insisting that Jamaica is still on top of the world in sprinting.
She pushed all the way to the finish line, holding off Lanae-Tava Thomas who finished second in a new personal best 22.34. Niesha Burgher also ran a lifetime best of 22.39 seconds to complete the podium at the event.
She had an unbeaten run from the preliminaries through to the final of the race. She won the preliminaries in 22.67 before coming back for the win in the final of the event.
Over the weekend, Jackson also claimed the 100m title, winning the race in 10.84 ahead of Tia Clayton and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who finished second and third respectively.

19-year-old Tia Clayton has expressed excitement after sealing her first Olympic ticket following her second-place finish at the Jamaican Olympic trials.

The two-time world 100m silver medallist started off with a win in the heats, stopping the clock at 10.99 before finishing second behind Clayton in 10.87 in the semifinal. With her win, Jackson has automatically qualified to compete in the 100m and 200m and might compete in the 4x100m relay team.
The 29-year-old started her season relatively late, competing in the JAAA All Comers Series #1 and winning the 100m race in 11.03.
She then competed in the 200m at the Diamond League meeting in Rabat, Morocco, where she won the race in 22.82. At the Diamond League Meeting in Oslo, the Jamaican sprint queen faded to finish fifth.
She then bounced back with a win at the Diamond League Meeting in Stockholm, winning in 22.69. She heads to the Olympic Games in Paris, France with the hope of winning her first Olympic gold medal in an individual event.
