Shericka Jackson ran a blazing 21.41s to win her second consecutive 200m world title at the World Championships in Budapest.
Shericka Jackson once again proved why she's the best 200m runner in the world, storming to a blistering 21.41s to defend her world title in Budapest.
The Jamaican defended her title in style and domineering fashion, erasing her Championship Record (CR) of 21.45s set last year in Oregon.
Her CR is now the second-fastest time in history, behind Florence Griffith-Joyner's World Record (WR) of 21.34s and is also a National Record and Personal Best (PB).
US champion Gabby Thomas settled for the silver medal in 21.81s, while newly crowned 100m world champion Sha'Carri Richardson settled for the bronze medal in a PB of 21.92s.
Noteworthy is that Richardson is the first American woman since 2011 to medal in both the 100m and 200m at the same World Championships.
For Jackson, even though she didn't achieve her goal of taking down the WR, she will take solace in the fact that she remains the fastest woman alive in the 200m event.
