The multiple World Champion, however, revealed that she is not yet fully 100% healed and is taking the journey a step at a time.

Multiple Olympic champion Shelly-Anne Fraser-Pryce finally got the chance to open her track season at the just-concluded Jamaican Championships where she won the 200m heats in 22.39.

Fraser-Pryce has been out with an injury and she announced her return with an impressive run. The multiple World Champion, however, revealed that she is not yet fully 100% healed and she is taking the journey a step at a time.

The injury forced her to withdraw from the Kip Keino Classic in May and had to be rushed out of the country for an immediate medical checkup.

“I’m really glad to be able to open my season finally…I have had a couple of setbacks but it’s part of the journey of being an athlete. I have learned to roll with the punches. I’m glad I was able to do the 200 despite it not being my favourite event.

"I’m doing pretty well at the moment...but really you are never really fully okay I’m grateful to God that I came out here and run well. I have finished injury free and that’s what matters,” she said.

The 36-year-old revealed that she is not sure about when she will run the 100m but hopes it will be soon, adding that having the 100m wild card to the World Championships in Budapest Hungary gives her the hope that she will compete.

“I hope it will be soon…however, I don’t want to rush things at the moment. I really had a scare earlier on and I don’t want to make another mistake.

"Whether I’ll be fit or not, just know that I’ll be on the start line at the World Championships,” she said.
