Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce keeps fans guessing after vague response concerning her future in the sport
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has remained silent about her future in athletics after withdrawing from the Paris Olympic Games, leaving her fans uncertain about her next steps.
Oliver noted that it would not be a great picture if Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce exited the global stage silently and went on to live her life like she never did anything to the sport and having a documentary about her is a great way to honour her achievements on and off the track.
He pointed out that Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce might have addressed most of the questions being asked by fans about her future and why she exited the Paris Olympic Games unexpectedly and that’s why they should watch out for her to drop the news.
“I think she has addressed it, in the documentary that hasn’t been released yet. Probably it will be revealed in her own time what she’s doing with her sponsors. Most of the athletes exit the limelight in silence and I don’t know if this lady deserves it,” he shared.
On her part, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce remained grateful to her fans for always rallying behind her during great and difficult moments. She lauded their understanding nature of knowing that sometimes things happen without her control and they are always eager to know what is happening in her life.
“We are so proud of the support that I get from home, truly is something that continues to hold me up and to see that support from the Jamaicans is something I’m grateful for,” Fraser-Pryce said.
“Thank you for continuing to hold that belief that at the end of the day, things happen, and we can’t control the things that happen but we too can navigate that journey and I’m glad that I have them with me and I think that continues to be a matter that we hold in our hearts,” the three-time Olympic champion added.
