Fans of 'Mommy Rocket' Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce can get excited as she'll will be racing in her first 100m race of the year in Switzerland.

Five-time world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will finally make her 100m season's debut at the Spitzen Leichathletik in Luzern, Switzerland on Thursday.

Fraser-Pryce was supposed to begin her season in Kenya and Botswana but pulled out due to sustaining a knee injury and for family reasons.

She will then officially run her first race of the year at the Jamaican trials, where she finished second in a time of 22.26s, behind Shericka Jackson's 21.71s.

The reigning world champion will be gunning for a fast time in Switzerland, which will be the needed confidence boost as she builds up her preparations for a successful title defense in Budapest.

Running a fast time will also bring her back in the conversation of the top contenders for the world title, having US champion Sha'Carri Richardson, compatriot Jackson, and Ivory Coast's Marie-Josee Ta Lou leading the pace based on their performances this season.
