‘Learn from me’ – Lucy Kabuu advises female athletes against making relationship mistakes amid Ksh70m property dispute
Former Commonwealth champion Lucy Kabuu has told famale athletes to be wary of the men they fall in love with to avoid exploitation and cases of Gender-Based Violence.
Running in the streets of New York, Sheila Chepkirui wore the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 4 that will retail for about Ksh32,250 ($250) starting January 2025. The shoes are considered among the best when it comes to marathon running and there was no doubt that they were instrumental in her win.
According to the manufacturer, the shoe is carbon-infused to provide a seamless transition from heel to toe for a snappy, efficient stride. In the midsole, a new rocker point offers improved running economy.
"A double layer of our best-in-class ultralight light strike pro ensures cushioning for every quick stride an athlete takes and helps one maintain energy over the long term. The shoe also rides on an outsole built with Continental™ rubber for a no-slip transition during toe-off and it is also designed to reduce weight without sacrificing the grip," Adidas describes the shoe.
However, the shoe is not without its cons as the upper part is slightly short and it also places a lot of pressure on the toes. The shoe also has an unstable midfoot and even though the heel lockdown is improved, there’s still some slippage or rubbing.
Meanwhile, Adidas has been manufacturing impressive shoes and one of the notable pairs is Adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1 shoes that were worn by Tigst Assefa as she broke the marathon world record in Berlin in 2023.
