Despite having a poor start, Sha'Carri Richardson recovered well to win her first US National title in 10.82s (0.7) and secure her ticket to the World Championships in Budapest.
The speedster who had earlier clocked an effortless 10.75s in the semis, and a then world-leading Personal Best (PB) of 10.71s in the prelims, couldn't go lower than these times as her start let her down but still found the drive for the needed victory.
It is her first National title in two attempts and her first time making the US team to the World Championships.

Brittany Brown ran a brilliant PB of 10.90s for second place, and Tamari Davis came third in 10.99s, both securing their spots in Budapest.
Richardson has been in exceptional form since the beginning of the season, going unbeaten in all her races and clocking most of the fastest times this season.

With Marie-Josee Ta Lou (10.75s) still in the mix and defending world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce yet to make her season's debut in the event, athletics fans can put their excitement way up on the World Record of 10.49s perhaps going down this year.
