American sprint sensation Sha’Carri Richardson might now be warming the hearts of her fans all around the world but it has taken effort to place her where she is at the moment.
Richardson lost her mother in 2021 and she disclosed that things completely took a different turn for her. She said losing her mother took her to a very dark place and she struggled to know what she really wanted.

At the time she was mourning the death of her mother, Richardson also faced another struggle after she was banned from competing at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
“Not having that bond of my biological mother during the transition of me getting older…I think that’s what really got me.
She was supposed to be my world and now that she wasn’t there I usually asked myself ‘Why I’m I here?’. It really took me to a very dark place,” she said.

“When I was a junior in High School, I tried to commit suicide,” she said.
She added that despite her aunt’s presence in her life, she still had doubts but she eventually chose to trust her word and live knowing that she will always have a family.
