Track and field fans have reacted to Sha'Carri Richardson missing out on the five finalists for Women’s World Athlete of the Year.
In a post on her Instagram stories, she said: “Congratulations to the beautiful ladies on being finalists for female World Athlete of the Year.”
The five women who have made it to the final list include Faith Kipyegon, Shericka Jackson, Tigst Assefa, Yulimar Rojas, and Femke Bol.

Assefa won the Berlin Marathon and set a new world record time at the event. On her part, Bol is the reigning World 400m hurdles champion and she also holds the World indoor 400m record.
