Julien Alfred under no pressure ahead of clash with training mate Asher-Smith & Sha'Carri Richardson in Zurich
Reigning Olympic champion Julien Alfred is not under the pump to deliver as she heads to the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich where she faces off against teammate Dina Asher-Smith, and Sha'Carri Richardson among other formidable sprinters.
She had quite a shaky start from the blocks but built on her momentum, coming from behind and crossing the finish line clear of Alfred who snatched the second place narrowly before Asher-Smith sealed the podium.
At the Paris Olympic Games, Alfred oozed class as she won the women's 100m race in style, beating Richardson, a favourite to win. The American sprint queen was forced to finish second but she has bounced back to her winning ways.
Great Britain's Asher-Smith did not have an impressive Olympic campaign as she was knocked out of the final of the women's 100m race and finished fourth in the women's 200m final, narrowly missing out on a podium finish. She went on to claim a silver in the women's 4x100m relay.
After the Olympics, Asher-Smith stamped authority in the women's 100m at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne, showing that she was still in the game. Her third-place finish competing against such a strong field is a testimony of her hard work and commitment to the sport.
Jamaican youngster Tia Clayton who shocked the world with her dominant win at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia was forced to settle for sixth place in 11.09 seconds.
Africa's fastest woman, Mariee Jose Ta Lou-Smith narrowly missed out on a podium place with her fourth place finish in 10.93 seconds. She is fresh from finishing second at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia.
Tamari Davis followed her closely with an impressive 11.06 seconds to settle for fifth after missing out on the women's 100m team to the Paris Olympic Games. Daryll Neita, who was impressive in the women's 100m at the Paris Olympic Games with a fourth-place finish in the final faded to finish seventh behind Tia Clayton.
Competing on home soil, Mujinga Kambudji failed to live up to the billing as she finished a disappointing eighth in the hotly contested race.
