Sabastian Sawe has expressed his elation after nursing his World Cross Country heartbreak at the Prague Half Marathon.
World Half Marathon champion Sabastian Sawe did not rest on his laurels after a poor show at the World Cross Country Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
At the World Cross Country, Sawe finished a disappointing seventh place and could not wait to heal his heartbreak at the Prague Half Marathon.
He meant business when he ran a solo race from gun to tape, winning in a course record time of 58:24. The time he clocked was a Personal Best time and it also propelled him to number 12 on the world all-time rankings.

World Half Marathon champion Sabastian Sawe wins Prague Half-Marathon showcasing resilience after a tough World Cross Country Championships
He broke away from his rivals a few minutes into the race and passing the 10km mark, it was evident that he was in for a big victory. He was in a class of his own in the Czech Republic capital and proceeded to win by more than a minute and a half.

“I am absolutely happy that I managed to achieve my personal best and to break the race record as well. I had a great run; the course was fast and enjoyable. The fans drove me forward, I didn’t experience any critical moment,” Sawe said as per Athletics Weekly.
He also noted that Prague is a beautiful city since he had also been training there in preparation for the half marathon.
“Prague is a beautiful city. I liked it during my training, but today the beauty of the city got me completely,” the 29-year-old said.
The win marks his second victory since the season started since he opened this 2024 with a commanding win at the National Cross Country Championships held at the Prisons Staff Training College in Ruiru.
Sawe also eyes a Team Kenya slot to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games scheduled for later this year and the Kenyan certainly possesses what it takes to represent the country.
