The pair of Robert Kiprop and Asbel Kiprop were miles ahead of the competition as the duo battled it out for supremacy in the historic Iten ground.
Robert Kiprop claimed victory in the men's third leg of Athletics Kenya's (AK) Cross-Country series with a time of 30:38.7, shaking off fierce competition from Asbel Kiprop who clocked in at 30:47.7.
The race was jampacked with 300 participants all aiming for glory and another 300 being locked out of the race.

The women's race was a tight a contest as Cynthia Chepngeno was pushed all the way by Gladys Chekoech and Catherine Reline.
The participants might have been thrown off by a false start that saw the runners take to the starting line again.
Asbel Kiprop who was odds on favorite win the race having already won the first leg of the series in Machakos on October 19 broke from the crowd early on in the race with only Robert Kiprop keeping up with the former World Champion.
The pair surged comfortably ahead of the chasing pack, alternating the lead in the race.

After a four-year doping ban, three-time world champion Asbel Kiprop is preparing for a comeback in 2025, aiming to make Kenya’s 5000m team for the World Championships in Tokyo.
Asbel who has recently expressed desire to make a great comeback after his four-year doping ban in November 2017 looked determined to clinch victory but it was Robert who made a tactical move towards the business end of the race.
Robert maintained the lead towards the final stretch to claim victory in front of an overwhelming home crowd.
