Olympic champion Athing Mu is the latest entrant to the Prefontaine Classic, the final of the Diamond League Meeting scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
The World 800m bronze medallist has been entered in the women’s 800m and if she goes on to compete, she will definitely be going for revenge after ceding her world title to Mary Moraa.

Mu still possesses a threat to Moraa since she is not suffering from any injury setback but she noted that she has been going through a lot lately. It is not a guarantee that she will compete though since she has been a serial withdrawer from races.
She was to compete at the Millrose Games in February but withdrew the week of the meet. She was listed among the entrants at the Music City Track Carnival in June but did not compete there and also withdrew from the Ed Murphey Classic in August.

On her part, Moraa has made it clear that she will be competing with the hope of defending her Diamond League final title. Moraa has been unbeaten in the women’s 800m so far this season and it will be her joy to continue the hot streak at the Hayward Field in Eugene.
The Kenyan is also bound to face tough opposition from Great Britain’s Keely Hodgkinson, the World 800m silver medallist.
