Ingebrigtsen won Olympics gold in 5,000m, Diamond League title in 1,500m, European Championships in 5,000m while also breaking the 3,000m world record, all in 2024, to make him one of the highly successful track stars this year.
That is set to lift his earnings significantly after it was revealed that in 2023, he made $2.3 million from a season that saw him win gold in 5,000m, silver in 1,500m at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Why ‘that moron’ Josh Kerr ends 2024 with the bragging rights over Jakob Ingebrigtsen
Jakob Ingebrigtsen has escalated his war of words with Josh Kerr by calling him a ‘moron’ in a recently released documentary but the Briton ends the season with the bragging rights.
According to VG, Ingebrigtsen raked in 25.4 million NOK ($2.3 million) in 2023 which is more than double the 11.3 million NOK ($1 million) that he made in 2022 when he won his first world title in 1,500m.
The figure was more than six times the 3.8 million NOK ($340,000) he made in 2021, the year he claimed his maiden Olympics title, the 1,500m gold at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Games.
The outlet reports that Ingebrigtsen paid NOK 11.8 million ($1.1 million) in taxes last year, an amount almost the same as what world 400m hurdles record holder Karsten Warholm earned that year. Warholm banked 15 million NOK ($1.4 million) in 2023.
