Former Olympics champion Mo Farah proved that he still has it when he chased down thieves who had stolen his phone and sped off in a van until he recovered his handset.

British long distance great Mo Farah may have retired from athletics but he has not lost his speed as some thieves in London discovered the hard way.

According to the Daily Mail, Farah was jogging alongside his wife in the exclusive neighbourhood of Surrey, England when he left his phone on the side of the road with the intention of picking it up after his workout.

He, however, noticed a strange white van pull up after which one of the two occupants got out, picked his phone and went back in. They sped off and that is when they discovered that they had ‘dialed the wrong number.’

Farah unleashed his trademark deadly finishing kick and followed the van in what onlookers described as “Olympics speed” until he caught up with the thieves and got his phone back.

The Olympian must have been surprised how the thieves breached security and got into the tree-lined 964-acre gated community but was not at loss in the end as he put in a great workout and also got his prized possession back.

At 41, Farah appears to still be in shape going by the incident, showing why he was so revered over the 5,000m and 10,000m during his heyday.

Farah won four Olympics gold medals and six world titles in the course of his track career before transitioning into marathon where he claimed the 2018 Chicago Marathon and finished second in London the same year.
