His time of 20.46 seconds eclipsed the previous national record of 20.48 seconds, set by Issam Asinga at the 2023 New Balance Nationals Indoor.

The race itself was fiercely competitive, with Brandon Arrington Jr. from San Diego finishing just behind Taylor in 20.49 seconds, while Jaxden Horton-Mims took third with a time of 21.04 seconds.

Taylor, however, had just enough to cross the line first, securing his place in history with a national record.

Taylor’s record-breaking run did not go unnoticed.
