Rai Benjamin has had enough of people slamming his close friend Noah Lyles, claiming that Tyreek Hill would probably lose a race to collegiate athletes, let alone the Olympic champion.

Olympic 400m hurdles champion Rai Benjamin has defended Noah Lyles following recent claims from Miami Dolphins superstar Tyreek Hill.

Speaking on the Nightcap show, Benjamin explained that he is tired of the slander about Lyles. He disclosed his close ties with Lyles, revealing that people should leave the Olympic 100m champion alone.

Benjamin noted that he does not like being a part of rivalries and explained that even though he could have been the best NFL player, he could have never loudly claimed to beat another athlete. He acknowledged the struggles that NFL players have to go through but noted that it does not give them, in this case, Hill, to speak about Lyles in that way.

The American slammed Hill, claiming that Lyles would certainly beat him and he might not even have the speed to beat collegiate sprinters.

“A part of me wishes I played in college, to be honest with you…I’m not going to pull a Tyreek and say like, ‘I’m faster than Noah or like I could go catch a ball or something.’ I’m tired of the Noah Lyles slander man, that’s my guy, I’m tired of the slander,” Benjamin said.

“I’m not saying I can go out there and do what you guys do and catch a ball across the middle. I know how hard it is to read plays and memorise stuff and go out there and put your body at risk every day…but Tyreek, you’re not beating Noah in the 100m, there’s just no way. You probably won’t even beat the top collegiate guys,” he added.

Meanwhile, the beef between Lyles and Hill started when the latter claimed he could beat the Olympic champion in a race. He added that he would wear a mask while beating him, to assert his authority.

Hill pointed out that after Lyles was beaten in the 200m, he does not have much to say at the moment, claiming that his sickly claims are not true.

“For him to do to that and say that we're not world champions of our sports....like come on bro, speak on what you know about, you know what I'm saying, and that's track. I would beat Noah Lyles. I'm not going to beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles,” Hill said.

“When I beat him, I’m going to put on a COVID mask and let him know I mean business. Noah Lyles can't say nothing after what just happened to him, you know what I'm saying, and then he wants to come out and pretend like he's sick, I feel like that's like horseradish," he added.
