Olympic champion Rai Benjamin playfully challenged Noah Lyles and Fred Kerley, claiming he could beat them in a race, sparking banter with fellow athletes on social media.

Olympic 400m hurdles champion Rai Benjamin has shared a provocative message aimed at reigning Olympic champion Noah Lyles and former world champion Fred Kerley.

Rai Benjamin shared the message after watching the SPRINT docuseries, noting that the Olympic 100m bronze medallist is delusional and was just exaggerating as he claimed that he would break the 100m world record.

The three-time Olympic champion further noted that he would beat both Fred Kerley and Noah Lyles in a race as he suggested that Vernon Norwood would back up his confidence as he beats them. Rai Benjamin used laughing emojis while making the claims to signal that he was making lighthearted banter.

“Fredrick Kerley is ALL. cap 🧢🧢🧢😂😂😂… I’d smack him and Noah Lyles word to Vernon Norwood. 🤫,” Rai Benjamin said.

In the docuseries, Fred Kerley and Noah Lyles are the main characters as they explain their rivalries in the build-up to the Paris Olympic Games. Rai Benjamin came up with the conclusion after listening to what both had to say.

Replying to his tweet, Noah Lyles said: “Boy what you talking bout lol.”

Olympic 100m hurdles champion Grant Holloway also commented on the tweet, saying: “It’s cool when they do it, it’s a problem when I do it…🖕🏾.”

Rai Benjamin then got back to Holloway: “I’ll see you indoors in that 60h.”

Grant Holloway then challenged Rai Benjamin to race over the 60m hurdles and he promised to race the 400m hurdles against the two-time world champion.

“How about this. You run 60mh versus me & I’ll run the 400mh versus you. I’m sure we can find a happy medium,” Grant Holloway wrote.
