Botswana sprinter Letsile Tebogo has showcased his growing herd of cattle which he is looking to convert into a money-minting venture.

Olympics 200m champion Letsile Tebogo seems to be enjoying his time on the farm as he tends to his growing herd of cattle.

Tebogo has taken to cattle farming not just to stay away from the pressures that come with being a world beating athlete but also embraced it as a venture that will boost his earnings.

The Botswana sprinter gave fans a glimpse of what is on his farm by posting a photo of his cattle on social media, showing love and admiration for what he is doing.

Tebogo recently revealed how he has seen his herd grow exponentially since winning the Olympics gold medal in 200m, the first for his country and Africa.

He received a lot of cattle donations from various quarters in Botswana, as the country sought to appreciate him for the glory he brought to the nation, and has now decided to turn his hobby into an investment.

"I personally had 10 animals – cows and goats – and then the Botswana government gave me about 30 more now. I am still counting, there are still more coming from them," Tebogo told World Athletics in September.

“Farming takes me away from the city life, so I can just refresh my mental life. Because in the city you are not a free human, but in the bush, you are a free human being.

“It allows me to distract myself away from track and field. Once you think about track and field too much, at the moment you get too much stress.”

Cattle are a symbol of wealth and respect in Botswana but the Kanya-born sprinter is not just looking to use what he has as a status symbol, but rather convert it into an income generating venture.

“Mostly I have cattle and Botswana gives me too many cattle so I need to have a solid plan of what I need to do to increase the number of cattle,” Tebogo shared during a conversation with SuperSport TV presenter Thomas Mlambo in August.

“It is an investment for me because athletics is not a long-term career so I need to have different opportunities and see what I could channel our money into.”

Tebogo had a highly successful 2024 season when he won Olympics gold in 200m, led Team Botswana to silver in 4x400m relay, while also claiming five Diamond League wins with a 300m world record also achieved this year.
