Several names have been floated as contenders to succeed Paul Tergat, promising to steer Kenya’s Olympic committee into a new era.
Two-time Olympic 10,000m silver medallist and former world marathon record holder Paul Tergat is set to step down as the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) president in April 2025.
Tergat, who took over from Kipchoge Keino in 2017 and has served two terms, leaves behind a legacy of rebuilding trust and efficiency within the committee.
As the election date of April 24 approaches, two main contenders—Shadrack Maluki and Francis Mutuku—have emerged as the front-runners to replace Tergat.
