Letsile Tebogo was at it again on Friday as he led Botswana to the 4x400m men’s relay final in a race Great Britain and USA had no answer for the Southern African nation.

Letsile Tebogo led Botswana to the 4x400m relay final just hours after claiming a historic Olympics gold in 200m.

The 21-year-old started the race and blasted to a time of a 44.40 seconds in the first leg before handing over the baton to Collen Busang who maintained Botswana’s lead and he would hand it to Anthony Pasela before Bayapo Ndori finished it off in style.

Botswana won the first heat in a season’s best time of 2:57.76 ahead of Great Britain, who clocked another season’s best of 2:58.88 for second place, as the United States finished third in 2:59.15.

It was a dominant race for Tebogo who did not look distracted or weary from his historic 200m win on Thursday night.

Tebogo had won the 200m Olympics title in 19.70 to beat American Kenneth Bednarek (19.62) to second position while world champion Noah Lyles faded to third place.

The 4x400m qualification keeps Botswana and Tebogo’s dream of winning two gold medals at the Paris Olympics alive as the 21-year-old continues to make history.

Japan and Zambia also made it to the final after sealing the two places for the fastest losers while France, Nigeria and Belgium qualified from the second heat.
