Kipyegon is seeking to make it three straight Olympics gild medals over the distance and as the world record holder, all eyes will be on her.
The 30-year-old already clinched silver in the 5,000m race but 1,500m is her staple, hence the expectation that it is hers to lose.
Kipyegon has become the undisputed GOAT of the event given her dominance at World Championships and the Olympics as well as breaking world records.
Paris is the place where she lowered her latest world record, having run 3:49.04 in the Diam one League, and another record cannot be ruled out given the strong field.
Kipyegon will be in the first head alongside Chepchirchir while Ejore squares is in heat 2 that has Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay who is among the opponents Kenya should look out for.
