Tough qualification standards for track and field athletes if they're to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Track and field athletes willing to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games have work to do as events entry standards have been released.

In the sprints, the men's 100m qualifying time is 10.00s flat, and the women's time is 11.07s. The men's 200m is set at 20.16s and the women's category is 22.57s, while the 400m has 45.00s and 50.95s respectively.

Hurdlers will have to hit or surpass the time of 13.27s for the men's 110m Hurdles and 12.77s for the women's 100m Hurdles.

Field events such as the long jump will have the athletes jump farther than 8.27m and 6.86m respectively.

Qualification Period

  • Individual events - other than the 10,000m, marathon, combined events, and race walks: 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024
  • 10,000m, combined events, race walks, and relays: 31 December 2022 and 30 June 2024
  • Marathon: 1 November 2022 and 30 April 2024

*Athletes will be able to qualify in two ways for the Paris 2024 Games, with 50% of qualification places based on achieving the entry standard for an event within the qualification period, and the other 50% based on the World Athletics Ranking within the ranking period.
