Noah Lyles has been placed in the same heat alongside Botswanan wunderkind in the men's 200m semifinal at the Paris Olympics.

The men’s 200m semifinal at the Paris Olympics will be something closer to the final considering how athletes have been paired in different heats.

The most outstanding heat will be the second, having Noah Lyles going up against Letsile Tebogo. Lyles and Tebogo are both great 200m runners and the duel between them will give fans a sneak peak of what the men’s 200m final will look like.

Lyles already knows the taste of being an Olympic champion following his impressive performance in the men’s 100m final that saw him win the gold ahead of Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson and Fred Kerley who finished second and third.

In the first round, Lyles and Tebogo both won their respective heats in huge margins and are looking for wins in the 200m final. Tebogo badly wants an Olympic medal and after missing out on the podium bracket in the men’s 100m, he will be out to impress in the 200m and make Botswana proud.

Canadian sprinter Aaron Brown will also be competing in heat two against the three-time world champion and the world 100m silver medallist.

Heat one will see Kenny Bednarek headline the field as he seeks redemption following his disastrous show in the men’s 100m final.

Bednarek will be up against reigning Olympic champion Andre de Grasse, South Africa’s sprinting ace Shaun Maswanganyi and Alexander Ogando.

The third heat has wunderkind Erriyon Knighton who will be out to prove his doubters wrong after he was cleared of a doping offense and allowed to run, something that brought up a lot of controversy.

Knighton takes on Wayde Van Niekerk, the 400m world record holder, with Joseph Fahnbulleh and Brendon Rodney also in the mix.
