Paris 2024: Greece's Miltiadis Tentoglou defends his title with spectacular long jump victory

Greece's Miltiadis Tentoglou successfully defended his Olympic title, clinching gold in long jump.

Greece’s defending Olympic champion threw down the gauntlet in the Paris Olympic final as Miltiadis Tentoglou soared to victory in the long jump, securing a gold medal with an outstanding mark of 8.48 meters.

The competition was fierce, with Wayne Pinnock from Jamaica claiming the silver medal with a jump of 8.36 meters.

Italy's Mattia Furlani also delivered an impressive performance, capturing the bronze medal with a leap of 8.34 meters.

Simon Ehammer of Switzerland displayed great skill, finishing in fourth place with a mark of 8.20 meters.

Meanwhile, Jacob Fincham-Dukes from Great Britain jumped to fifth place, reaching a distance of 8.14 meters.

Germany's Simon Batz and Mingkun Zhang of China tied for sixth place, both achieving a mark of 8.07 meters.

Another talented athlete from China, Jianan Wang, finished closely behind in eighth place with a jump of 8.03 meters.

Rounding out the top contenders was Filip Pravdica from Croatia, who finished in ninth place with a mark of 7.90 meters.
