Laventa Amutavi - wife of Africa's fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala - has set her eyes on qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Amutavi, who specialises in the long jump and 100m race, revealed that she is preparing for the same and so far, things are looking up.

Amutavi specialises in the 100m and long jump categories.
She disclosed that her focus is now on the National Championships scheduled for Thursday 22 to Saturday 24, June where she intends to lower her time.
“I am focusing on the National Championships where I intend to lower my time. This year, I don’t have any major goal and I will just be training well.
"I want to make the cut to the Paris Olympics next year, that’s my ultimate goal. So far, I am training well and my body is responding well,” she told Nation Sport.
Amutavi revealed that she draws her major inspiration from her husband, Omanyala, and she would one day want to also have her name etched in the history books.

He will be hoping for a much-improved performance in Paris Diamond League.
“Yes, he is my inspiration since we have the talent in the family. We have his young brother (Isaac Omurwa) who is also doing well. We are creating a great family dynasty and I also want to be a champion in the future,” she said.
Amutavi revealed that Omanyala finishing third and posting 10.05 at the Diamond League Meeting in Rabat was a slight setback for him but he will definitely bounce back stronger.
