Noah Lyles is set to make his long awaited comeback in February during a memorial race in Boston.
Olympic champion American Noah Lyles will hope to get his 2025 season up and running when he takes on former champion Lamont Marcel Jacobs.
The February 2 Boston event will be Lyles' first race post-Olympic. The six-time world champion will compete against the Italian in the 60m race, a stark contrast to their outdoor French summer competition.
According to Essence, the race will be in honour of fallen hero Ralph Mann, who passed away on January 2 this year. The former American hurdler had a big role in improving Lyles’ sprinting techniques as a trainer and New Balance wants to immortalize his impact.

Fireworks will be expected in Boston as Lyles' tries to silence his critics while for Jacobs, it will be redemption time after the Paris disappointment.
Italian sprinting sensation Jacobs limped off the track after he lost his Olympic crown in a tight 100m final at Paris 2024. Jacobs snuck into the final as one of the ‘fastest losers’ during the semi-finals but could not recreate the magic from four years ago when he shocked the world in Tokyo 2020.
