Olympic champion Masai Russell has revealed coach Greene's trait that made her fall out of love with the 150m.
Paris Olympics champion, Masai Russell has recently opened up about her bittersweet relationship with the 150m, a distance she once loved but now dreads, thanks to her coach, Rolando “Lonnie” Greene.
During a grueling training session, Russell candidly shared her feelings about Greene’s knack for pushing athletes to their limits.

Masai Russell has had a historic Olympic and proffesional debut, having been a collegiate track athlete in 2023.
“Coach Greene, you always know how to make a workout hard,” she said with a mix of admiration and exasperation.
“You know, I actually used to love 150s when I came to college. But then you made them so hard that now I hate doing them!”
Greene, ever the motivator, replied with a chuckle, “It will get you right.”
Russell’s journey with Greene began in 2018 when she joined the University of Kentucky’s track and field team.
Coincidentally, Greene had also just started his tenure as the head coach that same year. The partnership proved to be a match made in athletic heaven.
