In a school interview, Favour Ofili revealed the secrets to her track successes.
Louisiana State University (LSU) track poster girl and record holder Favour Ofili has revealed the secrets to her success before each of her races, which she goes on to dominate most time and run record-breaking times.

She revealed this in her school's On Track episode with her teammate Leah Philips, explaining it is by listening to one of Nigeria's top pastors, Bishop David Oyedepo, and having a playlist of Christian songs during her warm-up sessions at a meet.
"I made a playlist of Christian songs that I listen to, I also listen to my Bishop back home, Bishop David Oyedepo, where he's speaking in tongues and all that," she said.
Ofili also added how she speaks in tongues and prays before each race for the Holy Spirit to take over.
"I'm like, Holy Spirit take over this race, I can't do this by myself, I need your help now. I've practiced, and I hand the race to you. So listening to Christian songs is another phase of motivation for me."
The speedster has never hidden her religious faith as a Christian, as she makes this known in all her social media platforms and interviews.
Interestingly, in an exclusive interview, she explained that selecting LSU for her college studies was God leading her there.
Ofili in the 2023 indoor season
The LSU junior has been in exceptional form this indoor season, running very fast and iconic times in her races.
Two weeks ago, she shattered her indoor 200m Personal Best (PB) and African Record (AR) of 22.46s, with a new 22.36s to win the event at the Tiger Paw Invitational.

The time stands as a Nigerian Record (NR), world lead, NCAA lead, LSU record, Facility Record, the second fastest time in NCAA history, and the sixth fastest in world history.
Her new record means she owns the top seven fastest times by an African indoor 200m female runner in history, with her progression reading thus - 22.75s, 22.71s, 22.61s, 22.59s, 22.52s, 22.46s, and 22.36s.

Also, less than 24 hours before the race, she clocked a brilliant PB of 7.15s to finish second in the 60m final, which was a significant indication that her 200m AR was going down sooner than later.
Ofili will now be looking forward to making it a famous double title wins at the South Eastern Conference (SEC) Indoor Championships this weekend, where the spotlight will be on her to win the 200m and spring a surprise in the 60m.
