Olympic champion Gabby Thomas has finally broken her silence on why she opted to remain in Austin after the exertions of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Thomas, who managed three gold medals in the French capital as she took home honours in 200m, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay, has developed love for Austin after finding two unique attributes in the city.

Affectionately called “Coach Flo,” Floréal won the men’s NCAA Division I Indoor Championship in 2022 and the women’s NCAA Division I Outdoor Championship in 2023.
At the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Thomas won bronze medal in 200m and a silver as part of the women's 4x100m relay team.
Two years later, Thomas grabbed a silver in 200m at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest with a time of 21.82 seconds. Thomas will hope to have another perfect year 2025 as she builds on her Olympic performance.
She has already started 2025 on a high note after her victory at the inaugural edition of the Grand Slam track meet in Kingston, Jamaica.
