Gail Devers has revealed her dream 4x100m relay team, with Sha'Carri Richardson being on the anchor leg.
American sprint legend Gail Devers has named her dream 4x100m relay team, including reigning world 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson.
The three-time Olympic champion expressed her love for Sha’Carri Richardson’s stare as she noted that she loves seeing her run the anchor leg in the relays. Gail Devers explained that she would still place the Olympic 100m silver medallist on the anchor leg.
Gail Devers added that she would have multiple world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce start due to her impressive mastery of getting out of the blocks. Reigning Olympic champion Julien Alfred would run the second leg with Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith running the third leg.

Jamaican-American icon explains why Shericka Jackson, Kishane Thompson & Co are 'silent' over new financial contract
The Jamaican-American icon shared his thoughts on why Shericka Jackson, Kishane Thompson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and other top Jamaican athletes have been mum concerning the new Jamaican Athletics Federation financial contract offers.
“Obviously Sha’Carri, well they’re going to give her a lead but do I want to go and see her get somebody? I like it when she does that look to the side…let me see if I’m going to put her on anchor or I will let her go get somebody,” Gail Devers said on the Ready Set Go podcast.
“Let me put her on anchor because I like it when she finishes. I want Mommy Rocket (Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce) out of the hole…I want to be the coach, I don’t want to run. We have Jamaica and the USA kind of thing so I have to pick the other two, I think Julien Alfred. Julien will go second and then Dina Asher-Smith, that’s a good one, she will run the third leg and that’s the relay.”
Gail Devers added that with such a combination, all world records would be in danger and the organisers would have to come up with a new medal for them.
“When we take on anyone in the world, we got this, platinum medal, they have to make us another medal because we’ve surpassed both of those relays,” she added.
