Oblique Seville has always been a dominant force in the 100m but he is now ready to transition to the longer distance with the hope of dominating.
Seville explained that he has struggled with injuries, the main reason behind evading the 200m but noted that he is now ready for the challenge.

He believes competing in the 200m will also help him polish the 100m as he looks to make a mark on the global stage. Oblique Seville also wants to prove some of his competitors wrong, as he believes most of them do not believe in his abilities as a 200m runner.
Speaking about his goals for the season in the 200m, Oblique Seville revealed that he wants to go under 20 seconds. His personal best time is 20.17 seconds.
“Honestly, I wanted to run the 200m for quite some time and it is my opportunity to run the 200m and I’m happy and taking it as a stepping stone to help me with the 100m,” Oblique Seville said in an interview with Citius Mag.

“I want to show some of my competitors that I can also perform in the 200m but because of injuries, I never got the chance to perform.
“Generally, I think I can run 19 seconds in a 200m on the track because last year, I ran 19 seconds on the straight but that doesn’t really count for me. I really want to run a 19.”
The 24-year-old started his season with a win in the 400m at the Camperdown Classics before claiming an easy win in the 200m at the Velocity Fest #16. His most recent race was the 100m at the Grand Slam Track Kingston where he finished second behind Kenny Bednarek in the 100m.
