Noah Lyles has slammed an American outlet for discrediting Fred Kerley following his bold claim that he will be attacking the 100m world record soon.
Triple World champion Noah Lyles has slammed American outlet Citius Mag for demeaning Fred Kerley after he claimed that he will be going for the world record the next time he steps on the track for the 100m race.
His audacious post elicited mixed reactions from fans, and Citius Mag could not fail to comment on Kerley's post: “World record next time I touch the 100m.”
In their reply to Kerley, Citius Mag, claimed that Kerley has no potential yet to break the record following his inconsistencies in the 100m this season.

Marcell Jacobs scoffs at Fred Kerley's world record bold claims
Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs' reaction to the audacious claim by Fred Kerley has caught the attention of many.
The world record currently stands at 9.58 and was set by legendary Usain Bolt during the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.

"Do I think Fred Kerley is going to break the WR in his next race? No. Do I think any athlete is going to break the WR in 2024? No. Do I think any athlete is going to break the WR in the next three to five years? No,” the post from Citius Mag read.
Replying to their comment, the 2022 World champion, Kerley, did not much to say and simply commented: “Noted.”
However, two-time world 200m champion Lyles was irked by the comment from Citius Mag and slammed them for making such suggestions towards his fellow American.
“I actually don’t like this headline. I watched the video this was taken from and @EmeroleAnderson talked about something very important. He talked about how even if we the fans don’t believe an athlete can run a time doesn’t mean we should demean them for making goals,” Lyles replied to Citius Mag.
