Noah Lyles has disclosed the list of athletes he thinks will make it to the podium in the men's 200m at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Three-time world 200m champion Noah Lyles has predicted what USA will win in the men’s 200m at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Lyles believes Team USA has the ability to take the top three slots on the global stage owing to the quality of athletes selected to represent the country in the half lap race.

Lyles explained that the US has dominated the men’s 200m in the past World Championships and Olympic Games and going into this year’s edition of the event, he is confident that they have a chance to take the top three slots.

He has been selected alongside Kenny Bednarek and Erriyon Knighton who also proved their prowess at the US Olympic trials.

Lyles won the race, clocking a meeting record and world leading time of 19.53 ahead of Bednarek who clocked a personal best time of 19.59 to place second. Knighton had a season-best of 19.77 to round out the top three and the trio will be heading to Paris.

“Kenny had a great start and the plan was actually to swallow him in the first 50m but you know, he was making sure that the job wasn’t accomplished,” Lyles said.

“The US has been dominating and we’ve had two medallists at least, at each World Championships and the Olympics in 2021. In the 200m, we have a strong boating for a sweeping again.”

The triple World champion added that he has a lot of things to work and he is not going to rest on his laurels as he chases the four Olympic gold medals.

The 26-year-old disclosed that he has two more races to compete in, the Diamond League Meetings in Paris, France and the one in Monaco.

“I’m right where I need to be and we didn’t come here with the plan to peak for the season but you know, we are kind of drifting into the peak because there some kind of practice that we need to keep doing. I’m looking forward to strengthening the weaknesses,” he added.
