Noah Lyles lauds girlfriend Junelle Bromfield for making Jamaican Olympic team

Noah Lyles is in awe of his girlfriend following her impressive run that saw her qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at the Jamaican Olympic trials.

Triple world champion Noah Lyles has lauded his girlfriend Junelle Bromfield for sealing her ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at the Jamaican Olympic trials.

Bromfield clocked an impressive 51.24 to cross the finish line third in the 400m final and seal her ticket to the Olympic Games. The Jamaican started her campaign with a second-place finish in the semifinal, clocking 50.74.

The race was won by Nickisha Pryce for the second year in a row with 50.01 as Stacey Ann Williams finished second in an impressive 50.56. The three-time world 200m champion was in awe of his girlfriend, lauding her efforts that clearly paid off well.

“THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!! @JunelleBromfiel IS GOING TO THE OLYMPICS IN THE 400m!!!!” Lyles tweeted.

This will be the second time the 26-year-old will be competing at the Olympic Games after making her debut at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games where she competed in the 4x400m women’s relay and the mixed relay.

Bromfield was an integral part of the 4x400m women’s relay team that won a silver medal. The mixed relay team did not leave empty handed at the event as they won a bronze medal.

She opened her 400m season at the Tome Jones Memorial, finishing fifth and later proceeded to win the Pure Athletics Elite Invitational Meet.

She also finished fifth at the Bermuda Grand Prix and the Racers Grand Prix, clocking 54.09 and 52.16 respectively and the proceeded to compete at the USATF New York City Grand Prix, finishing seventh in 52.32.

In her 200m campaign, she won the race at the PURE Athletics Elite Invitational. She competed in the 4x400m relay team at the World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas, winning the final of the race and was also part of the relay team that won silver at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
