Olympics 100m champion Noah Lyles received yet another honour in his hometown of Alexandria when a new beer brand was named after him by a local brewery.

Noah Lyles’ hometown of Alexandria in the US state of Virginia continues celebrating him for his remarkable success and the latest is a new beer brand named after him.

Atlas Brew Works has started brewing two beers on site and of the special releases, one is the Noah Lyles 100m Golden Ale and the other being Tidewater IPA.

"Named for Alexandria’s hometown Olympic hero, the Noah Lyles 100m Golden Ale has subtle hints of melon and strawberry. Stop into the taproom to honor the fastest man in the world with this 4.1% ABV drinkable delight before it's gone,” the brewery said of the Lyles beer, as per Alexandria Living Magazine.

“Also available exclusively in Alexandria is the location’s first in-house IPA, Tidewater. With a 5.2% ABV, this super hoppy beer has notes of tropical fruit, red berries, and bubblegum."

The new beer brand comes less than three weeks since Alexandria honored Lyles for his Olympics 100m gold and bronze in 200m.

The state Senate passed a resolution commending his outstanding career, tracing his journey from Alexandria's TC Williams High School to becoming one of the fastest men in the world.

The document highlighted Lyles' early career milestones, including his victory at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games and the 2015 Pan American U20 Athletics Championships, as well as his 2019 title as the US Men's Athlete of the Year by Track and Field News.

Born in Gainesville, Florida, Lyles was raised in Alexandria and started his sprinting career at TC Williams High School, where he burst onto the scene by setting a national high school record in the 200m during the US Olympic Trials in 2016.

He has gone on to claim three gold medals in 200m and one in 100m at the World Championships, Olympics gold in 100m as well as five Diamond League titles.
