Noah Lyles’ girlfriend Junelle Bromfield has accused police officers in Jamaica for encouraging the online abuse and death threats directed her way.
Junelle Bromfield has lashed out at police officers in Jamaica for encouraging the cyberbullying that has been directed her way from Jamaicans in recent months.
Bromfield has recently opened up how she has found it difficult to get back home due to the death threats she has been receiving on social media, and on Tuesday, she highlighted how police officers are among those encouraging the abuse and trolls that she faces.
“Police officers who are supposed to make you feel safe in Jamaica encouraging the bullying and yet I am exaggerating not feeling safe?” she posed.
Her sentiments came just hours after an interview was aired where the Jamaican quarter-miler pointed out that she had to turn off her social media comments section following the bullying she got from fellow Jamaicans in her inbox.
“I mean, during the Olympics and even before, I had to turn off my inbox because I was getting death threats from people,” she told Sim Soul Sessions.
“I had Jamaicans in my inbox saying that they wished my foot gets broken when I’m running at the Olympics and if I came home, they were going to basically kill me. I didn’t feel like it was the right time even though I wanted to go back home and see my family.”
