World Champion Noah Lyles has lauded an 18-year-old Jamaican youngster for winning the prestigious Bowerman Award.
Triple World champion Noah Lyles has congratulated Jamaican wunderkind, Jaydon Hibbert, for winning the prestigious Bowerman Award on Thursday, December 14.
The 18-year-old bagged the award during the ceremony that was held at the US Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Convention in Denver, Colorado. He became the first Jamaican, first freshman male, and youngest Bowerman winner ever.

Lyles took to his X (Twitter) account to send his congulatory message to the young athlete saying, “Congratulations @_wunderkid__ on winning the Bowerman!”

American sprint king Noah Lyles has continued his criticism over how World Athletics handled the 2023 World Athlete of the Year Awards.
The University of Arkansas student/athlete had an unbeaten run through the indoor and outdoor season. He won the NCAA Division One double as well as the double in one of the toughest conferences, the Southeast Conference (SEC).
Whilst making a mark on the global stages, Hibbert set two World Under-20 records, indoors and outdoors, and was the first freshman to take the award.
He also competed in the senior category at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary but he did not compete in the final of the category despite winning in the qualification stage.
