Ferdinand Omanyala competed at the Mandela National Stadium in Uganda, shattering the course record by clocking 10.09 seconds on Saturday afternoon.
He started his 2025 season at the Thika Stadium before heading to South Africa for two races. He finished third at the South African ASA Athletics Grand Prix 1 and later won the second Grand Prix.
Ferdinand Omanyala had been out for six months before his season opener and he disclosed that the races were just to prepare him for the long season.

Ferdinand Omanyala has a great plan for youngsters through his foundation that will aim to nurture them in their talent and also in terms of education.
The 29-year-old revealed that he has plans to partner with Uganda’s Tarsis Orogot to make the dream happen and touch as many youngsters as they can.
“He is a great guy, I have seen him grow and get to where he is now and it’s a good friendship. Actually, I spoke to him about what I want to do for sprinters in Uganda and he is in. in future you shall see us working together,” Ferdinand Omanyala said.
As Ferdinand Omanyala prepares for the long season, his focus will not only be on impacting the lives of youngsters through his performances but also giving them a platform to grow their talents and educating them.
