Nigeria men's 4x100m relay team sadly miss out on final spot as women's team DNF

Team Nigeria's 4x100m relay teams didn't qualify for the final at the World Championships in Budapest.

Nigeria's quartet of Favour Ashe, Usheoritse Itsekiri, Alaba Akintola, and Seye Ogunlewe sadly missed out on qualifying for the men's 4x100m final after they finished ninth overall in Budapest.

The team clocked 38.20s to finish fifth in their heat, but it wasn't enough as Brazil snatched the last final spot in 38.19s.

Team Italy stormed to victory in the heat, clocking a World Lead of 37.65s ahead of South Africa with 37.71s, and Great Britain third in 38.01s.

In the first qualifying heat, USA won in 37.67s, Jamaica second in 37.68s, and Japan third in 37.71s - all qualifying for the final.

Meanwhile, in the women's events, Team Nigeria's quartet of Justina Eyakpobeyan, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma, and Faith Okwose did not finish as they failed to pass the baton round.
