Vivian Cheruiyot marked her impressive return to competitive running with a third-place finish at the New York City Marathon, showcasing resilience and inspiring others to reclaim past achievements.

Vivian Cheruiyot made a resounding comeback in running and is slowly rising to the top and taking the space that was once hers.

The four-time world champion recorded the most impressive performance in the streets of New York with her podium finish in the race, which was unexpected since she has been off the game for quite some time.

With her third-place finish in the streets of New York, Vivian Cheruiyot not only showed that she is back in the game but also proved to many women out there that they can always go back to dominance no matter the number of times they have taken breaks.

Sheila Chepkirui claimed the win in a time of 2:24:35 as defending champion Hellen Obiri came in second in 2:24:49. The former Olympic 5000m champion sealed the podium in 2:25:21.

Many would be curious to know the type of shoes Vivian Cheruiyot wore and it will be a surprise since it is not among the most prominent likes of Adidas and Nike. Vivian Cheruiyot reigned supreme wearing the Puma Deviate Elite 3.

Some of the advantages of the shoes are that it has a fantastic Nitro Elite foam and is breathable and has a lightweight upper. The shoe is also extremely responsive and more affordable than most super shoes since it goes for £195 (about Sh 32,549.24).

The shoe also has an outstanding grip and gives a runner a lot of comfort. It is also fast, agile and always ready to record outstanding performances and faster times.

The shoe is not without disadvantages since it is not the best for heel strikers and is also considered not very durable. It also lacks stability for some runners.

However, if Vivian Cheruiyot managed to conquer the New York City Marathon course with such a shoe, she would mean business if she went to a much faster course and would be able to stun the world once again.

This season, the Kenyan distance sensation started off with the Kenyan Cross-Country Championships where she finished 16th before rounding up the podium at the Paris Marathon. Vivian Cheruiyot finished sixth at the Great North Run, and then ended her season at the New York City Marathon.
