Race director Moses Tanui has announced the change of course for the Eldoret City Marathon due to various reasons.
Race organisers have announced the change of course for the much anticipated 2023 Eldoret City Marathon scheduled for Sunday, October 1.
Race Director Moses Tanui revealed that the changes came about due to the challenges athletes are faced with in making their way to the starting point. Due to that, the race will have different starting and finishing points.

Tanui made the announcement during a tree-planting exercise at the Eldoret Special School.
The veteran also noted that athletes were facing numerous travel challenges commuting from the Sogomo finishing point in the last editions. The race will now start and finish at the Central Primary School in Eldoret.
“This year’s route has been changed and we will start and finish at the same point, Central Primary School in Eldoret.
"This will help erase the logistical challenges we have had when athletes try to find their way back to where they had dropped their personal effects," the two-time Boston Marathon champion said.
