American sprint queen Gabby Thomas has revealed what gives her the power to beat her track rivals as she looks forward to further success at the Athlos NYC event this week.

Triple Olympics champion Gabby Thomas has shed light on how she manages to outsprint her track rivals.

Thomas, who won three Olympics gold at the Paris 2024 Games, counts so much on her preparation and self-belief heading to any event.

"While I'm racing, I'm in the zone, it is a flow state,” Thomas said in an interview with Athlos NYC.

“I let all the training do the work, my muscles know what to do. My mind knows what to do. Being deemed one of the fastest women on the planet is very surreal to me. Not something that I ever imagined for myself.”

Thomas is preparing for her final race of the year, the Athlos NYC, a women’s-only track event spearheaded by Alexis Ohanian, the husband to tennis star Serena Williams.

She will be joined by a number of global superstars such as Faith Kipyegon, Alexis Holmes, Mary Moraa among others and she is thrilled that female athletes finally have an event in which they are the major stakeholders.

“Athlos definitely feels like an event where we finally as female athletes have some ownership, have some say. We have a big part in its creation. I'm excited,” she added.

Thomas claimed Olympics gold in 200m before joining her Team USA colleagues to win the 4x100m and 4x400m relay titles and she is among the star attractions at the Athlos event where winners in each of the 100m, 200m, 400m, 100m hurdles, 800m and 1500m races that will be contested will walk home with $60,000.
