Julien Alfred has received more goodies from Saint Lucia’s government following her impressive track exploits this season, including winning her country’s first-ever Olympic medal at the Paris Olympic Games.
Competing in the French capital, Julien Alfred managed to claim the women’s 100m title and proceeded to take the silver medal in the women’s 200m. To end her season on a high, Julien Alfred claimed the trophy at the Diamond League Meeting final in Brussels.
Julien Alfred’s season was defined by the 60m win at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, enough confidence booster for her to keep going.

Julien Alfred lands massive role in Saint Lucia as Caribbean country marks ‘Julien Alfred Day’ in style
Olympic 100m champion Julien Alfred has received a massive appointment in her country Saint Lucia thanks to her growing status as a global superstar following Olympics gold medal win.
To celebrate her, the government honoured her with prestigious awards and accolades with Friday, September 27, officially named as the 'Julien Alfred Day.' The 23-year-old sprinting star received a heroic welcome back to her home country with the government ensuring that she felt honoured as she returned to the country on the Caribbean Island.
As reported by Sports Max, the government, led by Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, announced that the Millennium Highway would be renamed the Julien Alfred Highway. On top of the two outstanding honours, it was also announced that a monument would be constructed in her honour at the new Cul de Sac Roundabout.
Alfred will also receive a government gift of EC$1 million (approximately $370, 020) and a piece of land in an area of her choice measuring 10,720 square feet. It was further revealed that plans are underway for a Julien Alfred commemorative stamp and a commemorative exercise book featuring photos of the Olympic champion.

Sha’Carri Richardson tops Julien Alfred at the end of the season despite Olympics gold medal miss
American Sha’Carri Richardson has still ended the season on top of Julien Alfred even after the St Lucia sprinter collected more medals that her in 2024.
Alfred began her day of celebrations with a special award from George Pagoulatos, the Greek Ambassador to the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States. Julien Alfred also received EC$75,000 from the St Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC).
