'Mistakes and insecurities haunted me' - Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone on why husband Andre Levrone is special

Sydeny McLaughlin-Levrone has opened up about the unique trait that makes husband Andre special.

Olympic 400m hurdles champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has given insights on her view about her husband Andre Levrone.

The four-time Olympic champion admits that she's in awe of Andre's honesty and commitment to God. His blatant honesty has made Andre Levrone advice his wife, much to her admiration.

McLaughlin-Levrone, a three-time world champion, revealed her husband was critical of his past mistakes while she had tried to hide hers. This, she said, kept on haunting her but is happy that she can confide to Andre anything now even her past mistakes.

“No man had ever said anything like that to me before. I didn't understand how he'd gotten to a place where he could speak so openly about his past mistakes," McLaughlin-Levrone told Sportskeeda.

"For years, I'd tried to hide mine. Bury my shame. Run from it. Of course, that hadn't worked. Mistakes and insecurities haunted me nearly every day of my life. But now with Andre, my past didn't seem like something I needed to hide from.”

McLaughlin-Levrone clocked an impressive world record of 50.37 seconds to clinch the hurdles title in Paris, besting Anna Cockrell and Femke Bol.

The 25-year-old play a crucial role  in helping her team win the gold medal in the women's 4x400m relay as she ran the second leg in 47.71 seconds.

McLaughlin-Levrone who boasts a personal best of 11.07 seconds in 100m, is part of the renowned athletes set to compete at Michael Johnson's Grand Slam Track League set for April.
