Melissa Jefferson has made fun of Tyreek Hill for challenging Noah Lyles to a race, where he claimed he would beat the Olympic 100m champion while wearing a mask.

Newly-crowned Olympic 100m bronze medallist Melissa Jefferson has ridiculed Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill for his desire to race triple world champion Noah Lyles.

The NFL star, widely regarded as one of the fastest players, shared a post on his X after an ongoing debate, challenging the Lyles to sign a contract and hasten things so they can face off.

“Sign the contract and lock in that 50-yard race…,” Hill replied to a video of Lyles noting that he was just clout chasing.

In reply to his tweet, Jefferson, the Olympic 4x100m champion said: “Uhhhhh What 😂😂 😂.”

The drama started when Hill descended on Lyles following his 20om race defeat at the Paris Olympic Games. The 30-year-old noted that he could beat Lyles and wear a mask while doing it to show him who the king of Sprint is.

"For him to do to that and say that we're not world champions of our sports....like come on bro, speak on what you know about, you know what I'm saying, and that's track. I would beat Noah Lyles. I'm not going to beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles. When I beat him, I’m going to put on a COVID mask and let him know I mean business,” Hill said.

"Noah Lyles can't say nothing after what just happened to him, you know what I'm saying, and then he wants to come out and pretend like he's sick, I feel like that's like horseradish," he added.

During an interview on the Nightcap podcast, hosted by Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, Lyles claimed that Hill was only chasing clout using his name and if he meant business, he would have approached his agent and organised the race.

“Tyreek is just chasing clout. Anytime somebody fast comes up, he says he wants to race them. If he really wanted to race people, he would’ve shown up like D.K. Metcalf. The man raced in the 60m this year in the Masters division. The man dodges smoke. I don’t have time for that,” Lyles said.

“If he’s truly serious about it – I’m not talking about you just talking on the internet and you ain’t actually coming to me and talking to my agent and saying let’s set something up – if you’re seriously about it, you’ll see me on the track.”
